Cold Steel Chinese Swords Picking

Cold Steel offers three different Chinese Swords right now as of up to 2013. They offer us the classic GIM Sword, the Jade Lion Sword, and the Battle Gim of 2012.  These are all great Chinese swords with a live edge and real deal construction. I can't say anything bad about them at all but if you don't have a lot of money sitting around, and you got the Cold Steel disease in you, you just need to pick one and marry it, right? Here is my comparison of the three Cold Steel Chinese Swords. Hope can I help you pick!

Overall, I will summarize it in short here...

Cold Steel GIM Sword
Most practical if you like to chop a lot, and this sword offer you great amount of fun but surely won't be a sword that you like to treasure for a "house treasure" kind of thing. You will use it a lot and don't mind having a few scratches on it. It feels the lightest out of the three and the sword is very easy to manipulates too. If you like to USE your sword a lot, get this.

Cold Steel Jade Lion Sword
The most classy one out of the three, and the most collector's choice for sure. The Cold Steel Jade Lion Sword gives you the best appearance and presentation. Anyone who see this sword in your house will automatically say "WOW...." and want to touch it but fear to pay you $10k for putting a scratch on it with their fingerprints.  That's how precious it is. The sword is also easy to manipulate and handle. I will say that this sword will fit anyone who like to collect precious stuff, and have a piece of art at home.  Of course you can still use it, but you won't want to.... so after you get this one, in a few months, you will get the GIM sword too. haha!

Cold Steel Battle Gim
This one is the best one for training because the weight is heavy and balance is more toward the tip of the sword, which gives you great amount of workout too. The wood on the scabbard and sword's handle is super good quality, and so it is not as simple as it seems. At least I would say that the finish on this one look much better than the GIM sword.  The scabbard feels thinner too, and gives you a feeling of a solid, scary and heavy sword. When anyone see this in your house, they might not get drooling about it, but they will if you let them touch it once. A must get for all Cold Steel Swords fans plus a real martial artist who favor power over fancy.

Cold Steel Chinese swords are great for their practical side and also the designs. I personally trained in Kung Fu for over 20 years already and I would say that these are the best swords I have handled so far. I would love to see a Cold Steel Dao sometime in the future, this is a must have for sure!
